Why Fursa?
In Africa, MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises) constitute more than 90% of businesses and employ about 60% of workers, many of whom are women and youth, who tend to be poorer and more vulnerable.
Sub-Saharan Africa alone has 44 million MSMEs, almost all of which are micro. They are often the backbone of their local and domestic economies, in some cases contributing an estimated 40% to a nation’s GDP.
Not to mention, by 2050, a quarter of the world will be African. The continent will be home to 2.5 billion people – nearly 1 billion of them will be under 25 years of age.
